FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – The Union County girls basketball team put together a comeback in the fourth quarter on Tuesday as the Patriots defeated Northeastern 46-43 in a Tri-Eastern Conference contest.
Union County 18-14 at halftime before the Knights bounced back to grab a 33-30 advantage after three period.
The Patriots answered with a 16-10 edge in the final stanza for the win.
Tara Williams led Union County with 18 points.
Taylor Pinkerton finished with 12 points, eight steals and four assists, while Rainey Shepler added nine points and five rebounds. Genny Antrim had four steals.
Kelli Drake led the Knights with 13 points.
Jenna McFarland tossed in 11 points and Alizah Rankin scored eight points.
Both teams are back in action on Friday night as the Patriots (2-2, 1-0) visit Franklin County (3-0) and the Knights (1-3, 0-1) are at Union City (2-1, 0-0) for a TEC affair.
