LEWISVILLE, Ind. – The Union County baseball team defeated Tri 14-0 in five innings on Thursday night.
The Patriots scored seven runs in the first frame and then added six more in the second to take control of the Tri-Eastern Conference affair.
Mook Shepler led Union County with three hits, while Preston Scott, Caleb Greene, Nate Webb and Blake Fields added two hit each. Scott knocked in four runs.
Shepler worked four innings on the mound to get the win with three strikeouts. Mason Miller tossed a scoreless fifth to finish the contest with a pair of strikeouts.
Dillon Stevens had Tri’s hit.
Both teams return to action on the road Saturday.
Union County (12-6, 4-1) opens the Elwood Tournament against Twin Lakes and the Titans (7-10, 2-3) visit TEC foe Winchester for a doubleheader.
