WINCHESTER, Ind. – The Winchester boys basketball team pulled out a 47-44 overtime win over Yorktown on Tuesday night.
“I’m very proud of the toughness we showed tonight when things didn’t go well,” Winchester Head Coach Matt Fine said. “We didn’t execute very well, didn’t rebound very well and turned the ball over too many times, but we got the W.”
“Sometimes these wins are better wins when you have to grind through adversity,” Fine added.
Winchester did win the rebounding battle 37-34, while committing 22 turnovers.
Kiante Enis led the Falcons with 18 points and six rebounds against the Tigers (2-11).
Michael Georgi finished with 11 points and three blocks.
Arick Miller tossed in 10 points to go with 11 rebounds and eight blocks. Elias Gates didn’t score, but he pulled down seven rebounds and had four steals.
The Falcons (9-5) entertain Tri on Friday night in a Tri-Eastern Conference match-up at the Winchester Fieldhouse.
