Winchester Boys Win at Lincoln

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – The Winchester boys basketball team continued its run as the Falcons won for the eighth straight time on Friday with a 61-42 victory at Lincoln.

“A great team win tonight,” Winchester Head Coach Matt Fine said. “A lot of guys played well.”

The Falcons are now 13-5 overall and 4-2 in the Tri-Eastern Conference, while the Golden Eagles are 8-10, 2-4.

“We did a great job on both ends on the glass and really make good decisions with the basketball tonight,” Fine said. “(We) only had five turnovers.”

Winchester led 13-8 after one period and by the intermission the Falcons were in control with a 27-12 advantage.

“I thought we moved the ball really well tonight and got a lot of people involved offensively,” Fine said.

Kiante Enis led Winchester with 19 points. Arick Miller and Austin Lawrence finished with 11 points each.

Lawrence led the way with seven rebounds for the Falcons.

Garrett Pumphrey topped the Golden Eagles with 17 points and 11 rebounds as Chase Southerland added 15 points.

Winchester won the JV contest 43-27.

The Falcons return to action on Tuesday with a trip to Rushville.

Lincoln plays Seton next Friday at Earlham.
