KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. – Winchester Head Coach Holly Gutierrez picked up her 100th career win on Friday as the Golden Falcons defeated Knightstown 73-34.
Gutierrez, who is in her third season with the Golden Falcons, has a mark of 36-18 in Winchester. Combined with her five seasons at Northeastern and Pendleton Heights, she is 100-65 overall.
On Friday, Maddie Lawrence led the way for Winchester in the Tri-Eastern Conference girls basketball affair with 25 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and six steals.
Kira Robinson added 16 points, seven rebounds and seven blocked shots, while Shelby Miller finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Hannah Graft tossed in eight points with six assists and five steals. Becca Chamberlin added five points three steals.
Lori Thomas, Katie Clark and Sidney Vise all topped Knightstown with five points apiece.
Thomas had a team-high nine rebounds to go with a pair of assists and a steal. Jessica Butler finished with four points, four rebounds and two steals.
Emma-Kate Moore also had four points. Dharma Holder had four rebounds.
Winchester won the JV contest 37-33 as Ara Cowper tossed in 12 points and Cami Miller had 11. Clark had 10 points for the Panthers.
The Panthers (0-1, 0-1) entertain Hagerstown on Saturday.
The Golden Falcons (4-0, 1-0) travel to Tri High next Friday.
