MUNCIE, Ind. – The Winchester girls basketball team fell for the first time this season on Wednesday as the Golden Falcons lost 51-49 to Delta in overtime.
Delta led 21-11 after one period and then 33-16 at halftime. Winchester was able to close the gap in the third to 38-30 before the Golden Falcons tied the game at 47-47 at the end of regulation.
Maddie Lawrence scored 18 points to lead Winchester, while Liz Pegg added 14 points.
Lawrence had nine rebounds and Pegg finished with six rebounds.
Kira Robinson tossed in eight points as she grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds to go with four blocks.
The Golden Falcons (7-1) are back at home on Saturday as they entertain Monroe Central.
