PORTLAND, Ind. – The Winchester girls basketball team won its fifth straight game on Saturday to remain unbeaten as the Golden Falcons got past Jay County 57-51.
Winchester is 5-0 to start the season for the first time since the Golden Falcons went 9-0 in 2012-13.
Maddie Lawrence led the Golden Falcons with 16 points, seven rebounds and seven steals, while Kira Robinson tossed in 11 points and grabbed five rebounds to go with six blocks.
Autumn Dixon and Kelly Graft finished with eight points each, while Liz Pegg and Shelby Miller added seven apiece. Dixon also had five rebounds.
The Golden Falcons visit Hagerstown for a Tri-Eastern Conference battle on Wednesday.
