WINCHESTER, Ind. – Winchester and Union City split a baseball doubleheader on Saturday with the Falcons taking the Tri-Eastern Conference 3-2 in the opener.
Union City bounced back to come from behind to win the second contest 6-4.
In the opener, the Falcons (2-2, 1-0) were behind 2-0 when they scored twice in the fifth to tie the contest. They scored the game-winner in the bottom of seventh.
Joe Webb tossed a complete game to earn the win on the mound for the Falcons. He surrendered two runs on four hits with 10 strikeouts.
Aaron Wallace, Dalton Hensley and Cullen Hall each had a hit for Winchester.
Union City starter Bailey Hughes worked six innings for the Indians and gave up two runs, while striking out nine. Jacob Fulk gave up the winning run and took the loss.
Trevor Spence led the Indians (1-3, 0-2) with two hits.
In the second game, the Indians trailed 4-2 when took the lead for good with three runs in the fifth.
Spence led the Indians with two hits. Fulk finished the last three innings on the mound and earned the victory as he blanked the Falcons and fanned six.
Jordan Key led Winchester with a pair of hits.
Glenallen Anderson started got the loss for the Falcons as he left the mound in the sixth.
Winchester is back in action at Delta on Monday.
Union City travels to Union County on Wednesday.
