UNION CITY, Ind. – Courtney Wise set a Union City girls basketball scoring record on Friday with 39 points as she led the Indians to 58-44 victory over Lincoln.
Union City now leads the Tri-Eastern Conference with a 5-0 mark, while the Indians are 10-2 overall. Union City has won seven straight contest with three conference contests part of that run.
Wise scored 18 points in the first half as Union City led 29-27 at the intermission after trailing 17-8 after the first quarter.
In the second half, Wise added 21 points as the Indians extended their lead to 39-31 at the end of the third. She also grabbed 12 rebounds.
Bailey Hartman finished with nine points and a team-high 14 rebounds. Justiss Cantu scored just five points, but she had six assists and four steals.
Kerrigan Neff led the Golden Eagles with 18 points as they fell to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the TEC.
With a victory, Union City has a chance to clinch at least tie for the conference title as the Indians entertain Tri on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
Lincoln is also in action that night as the Golden Eagles travel to Eastern Hancock.
